Using Atlas with a phone

It's your choice

People who have difficulty hearing when on the phone often rely on their hearing aids for assistance. If your Atlas hearing aids have the optional telephone switch or 'T-coil', this feature can make it easier to understand telephone conversations.

The Telecoil is a small push-button on the back of a Behind-the-Ear style or on the outside of an In-the-Ear style.

By activating the Telecoil you can disengage the microphone from picking up sounds around you that might distract you from hearing on the phone.

When you use the Telecoil, the sound from the phone goes directly to your instrument with less interference. This often makes speech much easier to understand.

Instead of using a Telecoil, some people prefer just to use the phone normally with their hearing aids. However, others might find it more comfortable to remove the hearing aid when using the phone. It’s your choice as to what the right solution is most convenient and beneficial to you. Your hearing care professional can help you decide which option best suits your lifestyle.

In your User Instructions Booklet you will find more information about using the phone.
